The fondue mixture is first melted in the caquelon (or in a bowl in the microwave) and bread is then dipped in the fine creamy cheese using a long fork. Vegetables, potatoes or fruit can also be used to provide a sophisticated and unique fondue taste experience.
Fondue is often enjoyed with condiments such as gherkins and pickled onions.
