Sambal Brandal (or Berandal) in Indonesian means rascal or scoundrel, which already gives away how spicy this sambal is. This fried sambal consists of kemiri nuts, garlic, onion and sometimes tamarind (asem) or Kaffir lime leaves (daun djeruk perut) are added.
